Don't you see? It's not incompetence, it's a security measure!

- jjoonathan 5y agoUgh, I am still salty that we let NAT steal the federated internet from us. It just happened to double as the laziest possible way to throw up something that resembles a security perimeter and now that assumption is baked so deeply into multiple industries (social networks, consumer electronics, even the networking and security industries themselves) that it will take decades to back it out, if we ever do.
