  I think we just don't support parens at the end of a URL. Edit: Removed a test link. Our current "bbcode" url regex is here: https://github.com/ferg1e/peaches-n-stink/blob/master/views/bbCodes.pug#L6 https://github.com/ferg1e/peaches-n-stink/blob/master/views/... Looks like there are no parens at all. Maybe it's an easy update.

  Sometimes people want to get paid for their contributions and if they listened to everyone in research fields they come away with laughably ineffective solutions to monetizing. Token sales are incredibly effective at that part, and yes they currently have to say the proceeds are for "community engagement" but the simple answer is "we wanted to make a lot of money really fast for things in our head that others think can solve a market need" I think it would be better to find a way to better align the incentives, but you have to keep the earnings attractive and fast, compared to the either non-existent monetization paths, or begging for grant dollars or other lottery style results like founding a company and playing VC ponzi schemes that people just happen to respect more, for now.

    To add to this, it's an open protocol. You can use it to create your own network and then do whatever you want with the coins.
