It's actually slightly easier these days (at least on my phone): hold down the power button as if to turn it off, but don't swipe to actually turn it off, just hit cancel (or home, or power to turn the screen off). The phone will be locked and prompt for your passcode and won't let you use biometrics.
- gnicholas 5y agoFor me (iPhone 11 Pro, iOS 15), holding down the power button activates Siri. The ways I can force lock the phone are either pressing Vol+, Vol-, and power, or pressing power 5 times. But if you have the emergency SOS turned on, the latter will activate a siren and call 911 a few seconds later.
- egberts1 5y agoold iPhone 5s here, vol+ plus Vol- plus Power buttons do nothing.
- ryanlol 5y agoThis is a pretty bad idea if you are worried about your phone being seized, just turn it off.
