If a user doesn't post an email addy in his/her profile then it might mean he/she doesn't want to be contacted.
That said, it would be nice to have a note on the profile page indicating that addresses in the email field are not displayed publicly.
- staunch 18y agoI choose not to put my email address in my profile, but I would be happy to get reddit-style private messages here.
- streety 18y agoIn my case it was because I didn't realise it would be difficult to contact me without posting my email address. I like the idea of pre-qualifying people who are willing to put in a bit of effort but some text in the registration form would probably be helpful to any new users.
