How do you know the "offenders" are storing in plaintext?
- johnx123-up 15y agoThe detection process is somewhat wrong. In many sites, they store passwords in plaintext or reversible plaintext--but they send mere link to reset. So, you don't really know, how they're storing. IMHO, most of new startups store passwords for the sake of learning. Definitely, there needs to be some disclosure on how they'll store passwords.
