I am reconsidering my organ donor opt in though. It's a minor thing, but why would I give away anything to a system that never helped me?
- lixtra 5y agoIt’s a karma thing. For example you seem to be enjoying the existence of the internet. Maybe your organ ends up in somebody that enabled that for you or in somebody dear to somebody that made your life better. And if you say that your organ may end up in somebody you despise you can still ask yourself if it is so bad that you wouldn’t gamble on a “good outcome “.
- fighterpilot 5y agoYou're giving those organs to two or three sick individuals who need them in order to live, not to a "system".
- bruce343434 5y agoBecause you're not giving to a system, but to someone who may be about to die without the organs. In any case, you're not gonna care or notice when you're dead.
- kwhitefoot 5y ago> why would I give away anything to a system that never helped me? But you started by saying >Once I die, I won't care.
- bserge 5y agoBut I care now. Doesn't matter, I'm too lazy to get a new card. Which I realized recently might be confusing. Do not resuscitate and organ donor? How's that work :/
