- HPsquared 5y agoIt's a question of resource allocation. There is limited space for [trains,trams,cars,buses,pedestrians,taxis,motorcycles,scooters] and it must be allocated between those modes. A decision to build a bike lane leaves less space for cars, and a decision to make a space 100% free-for-all makes it worse for cyclists and pedestrians. The art is in appropriately weighting the different modes, but there will always be some group with an axe to grind.
