Design and bring-up of a VQB 71 GPS clock
- _Microft 5y agoThese seven-segment displays are truly a thing of beauty. According to the data sheet, the top and bottom segments of the LEDs are just 7mm (~1/4inch) apart. With an image viewer and some measuring, you can estimate the size of the light emitting zones. Zooming in, you can see that a segment consist of two LEDs with each having two rows of light emitting zones with a narrow gap. Each of these six zones per half-segment is just 280µm x 35µm large. These fine lines lighting up in vivid red must just look awesome in reality. https://cdn.hackaday.io/images/6360291585457700169.jpg https://cdn.hackaday.io/images/6360291585457700169.jpg
