Canada drops extradition after Meng Wanzhou strikes deal with US
- redis_mlc 5y agoIt's an ugly case with no winners. It showed that the CCP will hold Western hostages pending a court case involving one of their royalty, and that the US and Canada will cave in when there's a Democrat in the White House. So don't travel or transit in China. BTW, Meng lived in a mansion during the proceedings, not a jail cell. For some reason she has multiple residences in Canada, though a Chinese citizen. Wonder why.
- 908B64B197 5y agoMeanwhile several Canadians are detained in China, on allegedly bogus charges. Of course, Trudeau bowed down to the CCP and wasn't able to secure their release. Meanwhile Meng lived in one of the several mansions she owns in Canada. Seems only the previous administration had any kind of strategy on China.

- redis_mlc 5y agoTrump once said, "I'm the only one who can fix this." He was correct, in that he wasn't beholden to the CCP, unlike a surprisingly large number of politicians and media outlets. For example, besides the Biden family, it's been reported that the White House chief of staff is a "former" CCP lobbyist. CCP leaders brag in public about how Wall Street is in their pocket. (A CCP member was in charge of CALPERS investments until recently. When discovered, he just up and left.)
