Possible Compromise of the Extension
- verdverm 5y agotl;dr two devs become unprofessional on GitHub about a browser extension adding a link on first launch, ivermectin, and covid. It will be interesting to see if OP's abuse reporting will result in the extension being removed.
- Abishek_Muthian 5y agoMy intention was not to go into ivermecitin at all but to question dynamically changing 'report issues' to 'India success [story]' linking to a video promoting Ivermecitin. The developer never addressed that but struck with discussing quote, 'to bring awareness to a story that has so far been suppressed', unquote. Forcing me to rebut their statements. This extension is primarily used by those with accessibility issues, especially those who are visually impaired if changing a link dynamically to promote an agenda which has nothing to do with the extension is not deceptive then I don't know what deceptive is. I don't know what aspect of it was unprofessional on my side, I'll try to address it if you can tell me. > about a browser extension adding a link on first launch, ivermectin, and covid. Not just first launch, The period is dynamic. I got it on a random launch.
- verdverm 5y agoYou were by far the more unprofessional and bombastic. Your rage came out. The extension developer was well tempered. Don't like it, don't use it. No need to go claiming abuse and reporting. That conversation does not belong on GitHub.
- ssss11 5y agoThis is an epic thread! If I followed correctly, the extension author is spamming their users on initialisation with a link to a YT article on Covid and ivermectin…. Why would you do this? No user wants deception like this (regardless of whatever the link goes to)
- verdverm 5y agoThe author explained why he did it
- Abishek_Muthian 5y agoYeah conspiracy theory, misinformation and possibly disinformation for monetary goals.
