Ask HN: A real-time android version
I have 0 experience in Linux kernel development and related fields. I wanted to know from experience developers if it is possible to apply RTAI patch to android so that I can run some real-time tasks from android based devices.
This is a research problem I am supposed to work on hence my main concern is if it is possible and not things such as performance and so on. There is very little work done on this front so far.
The larger problem we are looking at is to build a info-entertainment system for an automobile, which can even have a specialized Car App-store. At the same time the same hardware should be also able to handle some hard-real-time tasks.
Since were in the very initial stages of our project I will be happy if you guys can give pointers links to even a bit tangential topics.
