Pion WebRTC v3.1.0 Released
- Sean-Der 5y agoHey HN, This is a project I have been working on for a couple years and finally got a new release out. Would love to chat/answer questions here about Pion or even just WebRTC in general! I am always trying to make WebRTC easier/more accessible. So if you have any ideas/feedback would love to hear.
- shams93 5y agoThis project is amazing to me the most exciting part is being able to use this with wasm, what plans do you have for tackling some of the issues of scale that can come with webrtc in general?
- Sean-Der 5y agoThank you! I have been focused most on vertically scaling Pion. AES-GCM[0] was a big one that landed recently. I also pushed for it in Chromium[1], it still isn't the default unfortunately. Batch UDP[2] should be happening soon as well. After that I want to generally make Pion faster[3], less allocations, locking etc... I don't have concrete plans though. If anyone has experience in this area I would love your help. I want to build it in a way that we can't regress perf wins. For scaling horizontally I have been watching LiveKit[4] and really excited about what they are doing.
