Yep. Personally, I want a free and open internet. Mainly because I've noticed a trend where social media sites have started censoring anything except far-left opinions.
- stronglikedan 5y agoYou're being downvoted, but what you say is objectively and demonstrably true. Unfortunately, the people it doesn't directly effect rarely hear about it from their news sources, so they rarely believe it to be true. Even more unfortunate is that it may indirectly effect them one day, because first they came for the conservatives...
- serverholic 5y agoIt’s true. I’m centrist and I’ve noticed it.
- PpEY4fu85hkQpn 5y agoYou have been successfully propagandized. Extreme right wing outlets dominate Facebook interactions almost every day. How is it possible to have a victim complex about something so obviously not true? https://twitter.com/facebookstop10 https://twitter.com/facebookstop10
- weeblewobble 5y agoWhat you're describing is a mainstream political position. Our last president talked about it constantly. Googling "big tech censorship" brings up tons of articles from mainstream media. - otterley 5y agoWhat are you talking about? You can find conservative voices all around Twitter and Facebook.
- serverholic 5y agoOther platforms exist. Reddit has been steadily clamping down on content they don’t agree with.
- otterley 5y agoOne can find plenty of conservative content on Reddit, too. /r/Conservative/ for example. And there is healthy debate in /r/politics as well.
- serverholic 5y ago/r/politics is extremely left-leaning. It's only a matter of time before /r/conservative gets quarantined. I bet they're already planning it.
- PpEY4fu85hkQpn 5y agoPerhaps the American Right is incompatible with a healthy society. Which is why some of the most extreme ones are booted off of platforms - because they consistently break the rules that every user agreed to follow.
- sgregnt 5y ago"American Right" you mean anyone that is more conservative than a dem party? That's an interesting opinion to hold...
- PpEY4fu85hkQpn 5y agoThe same party that calls anyone less conservative than them "socialists" and "communists" interchangeably. "Conservative" isn't an accurate term for the American Right because in any other industrialized nation they would be considered an extremist party even by the conservatives. They are authoritarians doing their best to unravel democracy.
