I tried GNU Guix for a week (coming from Arch). While I really liked that it has an integrated approach for almost everything I found the following drawbacks which made me switch to NixOS ultimately. - lack of packages, I found myself constantly using the Nix package manager to get most of the packages - package download speed was considerably slower than Arch - the overall size of the community is small
