A mandatory four day work week is just another way for crony capitalist elites to destroy small businesses by regulating them out of existence through high labour costs and entrenching the powerhouse corporations that can afford to take a hit but would love to see their competition cease to exist and create de facto monopolies through regulatory capture.
It’s also a self fulfilling prophecy to force UBI and create a slave class dependent on the government to survive. 1. Jack up costs through things like minimum wage, and four day work weeks, mandatory paid vacation and sick days, etc…2. Job market is decimated because small business basically becomes non existent and all other low wage jobs are replaced with robots, and millions of people are without work. Government swoops in and “saves” them, institutes UBI and voila - serfdom.
- fayten 5y agoWhat are you basing these opinions on? Why do you think UBI is a bad thing and that it would institute a slave class?
- rubyist5eva 5y ago> Why do you think UBI is a bad thing and that it would institute a slave class? Because if you are dependent on the government to provide you basic needs - they can coerce you to do whatever they want because your family will starve if you don't.
- corinroyal 5y agoSounds like the status quo with corporate cartels.
- rubyist5eva 5y agoWell yeah, it's been in the works for decades and it's only going to get worse.
