I agree; there is no news agency or experts I blindly trust. It's generally workable for most important things but it takes a lot of time and and practice in the skill of research. And I'm not sure enough of the populace does have the skill, time and interest to make such an approach workable in a democracy. Maybe it would be possible with much better education and tools, like high quality news sources.
