I was pretty amazed last year to discover that MacOS Catalina finder did perfectly fine job in restoring an early 2000 era iPod Nano once connected through "the dongle of shame" (USB-C/USB-A). Connoisseurs will appreciate that a the time of shipping the device required the now deprecated iTunes software. So someone, bless him, probably took time to port those old firmwares to the new finder based interface. PS: No it doesn't run on iOS 15 but should we realistically expect that ? :P
