That's a problem with some cattle but not all. Some cattle mostly eats grass on non-arable land.

  If you want to get rid of some cattle production, that still implies reducing meat consumption.

    Sure but reducing meat consumption is oversimplifying. If you reduce meat consumption of grass-fed cattle, there's no point.
