- IlliOnato 5y ago"Flagship phones sold in Europe by China's smartphone giant Xiaomi Corp have a built-in ability to detect and censor terms such as "Free Tibet", "Long live Taiwan independence" or "democracy movement", Lithuania's state-run cybersecurity body said on Tuesday." https://www.reuters.com/business/media-telecom/lithuania-says-throw-away-chinese-phones-due-censorship-concerns-2021-09-21/ https://www.reuters.com/business/media-telecom/lithuania-say...
- throwaway4good 5y agoI thought we were discussing this right over here: https://news.ycombinator.com/item?id=28616683 https://news.ycombinator.com/item?id=28616683
- busymom0 5y agoThis is the direct link to the PDF of the assessment so thought it was worth posting.
- pvg 5y agoProbably but it's more useful as a comment in the original discussion. Posting it as a different story splits the discussion and moderators have to run around merging it afterwards.

- dang 5y agoAs pvg said, it's best to post such links to the original thread, to prevent thread splitting — and also because we often change URLs when we see such links - e.g. https://hn.algolia.com/?dateRange=all&page=0&prefix=true&query=by%3Adang%20changed%20thanks&sort=byDate&type=comment https://hn.algolia.com/?dateRange=all&page=0&prefix=true&que...
- busymom0 5y agoSorry about that, will keep that in mind for future reference.
- dang 5y agoComments moved thither. Thanks!
