I do not know why they do not give credits, nor mention that they use LXC behind the scenes [1]. [1] https://github.com/waydroid/waydroid/blob/bullseye/tools/h

- gizdan 5y agoWhy do they need to? Sure it'll be nice, but depending on your market, maybe that's an unnecessary implementation detail.

- zekrioca 5y agoThey do mention "Waydroid uses Linux namespaces (user, pid, uts, net, mount, ipc) to run a full…" [see main page] when in fact they simply use LXD, which uses all these features. Besides, it is a project dependency, which is not mentioned anywhere. Edit: clarity.
- jrm4 5y agoI am, of course, not naive enough to think that there's a good chance of it happening -- but I nevertheless strongly feel this way about every large tech company that isn't Microsoft not mentioning that they use Linux.

- electrikjesus 5y agoWe figured mentioning it in the docs under dependencies was enough (https://docs.waydro.id/usage/install-on-desktops https://docs.waydro.id/usage/install-on-desktops). We will add it to the website instructions as well then to make things more clear.
- pabs3 5y agoHave you considered adding support for other container systems like systemd-nspawn or Kata Containers?
- electrikjesus 5y agoWe are working with a few community members to support as many systems as possible RN. On down the road, there might be aossibility of supporting different container methods, but for now, we are focusing our efforts on using LXC
- zekrioca 5y agoThanks for clarifying, I haven’t seen it previously.
