It blows my mind that news papers will report things told to them by the CIA as fact after all we know from the past decades.
"CIA claims officer suffering from Havana Syndrome" makes sense as a headline.
- rbanffy 5y agoI'm not surprised at all nobody calls them out for still calling this "Havana Syndrome". It looks like something that is used in multiple US diplomatic missions around the world that's specific to US missions.
- readonthegoapp 5y agoY'all are saying this is all fakenews?
- rbanffy 5y agoI'd say it was first noticed in Havana, but it's not caused by a Cuban weapon. My suspicion is something common in American diplomatic missions that affects some people more than others. With what we've seen so far, it's like calling COVID-19 "Chinese Flu".
- readonthegoapp 5y agoi def like the idea of accurately naming things -- what do you think we should call this?
- rbanffy 5y agoAt this point, I'd go with "Foreign Office Syndrome"
- readonthegoapp 5y agoThat's not the worst term. Not bad. Hereby unanimously adopted.
