It seems like there are a lot of people here who change their laptop almost every year or two. Is that common? I ask because I'm still using my mid-2014 MBP, and it's only really this year that it's started feeling underpowered with the fans running quite a bit. Apple laptops are expensive for sure, but compared to upgrading every year it seems like a good deal, not to mention the problem of electronic waste. (I'm not looking for an Apple / PC fight by the way, just haven't heard of people upgrading so regularly before).

Takes me 30 seconds to boot up and 4 seconds to shutdown running Debian since forever. Does what I want and gets out of the way. Never really felt anything missing performance wise.
