- ronsor 5y agoThe lockdowns have gotten so extreme that there's a desire for black market fast food. Amazing.
- randomhodler84 5y agoAmazing? Terrifying. When people are desperate for junk food, what hope so they have for the future?
- jim-jim-jim 5y agoLooks like there's a trend here: https://www.nytimes.com/2013/05/16/world/middleeast/tunneling-kfc-to-gazans-craving-the-world-outside.html https://www.nytimes.com/2013/05/16/world/middleeast/tunnelin...
- josephcsible 5y agoWhat's the logic behind banning takeout food? How is that any more dangerous than getting groceries and then cooking them yourself exactly?
- axiosgunnar 5y agoAll governments around the world are currently on a bureaucratic regulation orgy. Let's hope it will stop soon.
- randomhodler84 5y agoHow often do governments give back powers they have been granted? I don’t think barrels can roll up hills.
- axiosgunnar 5y agoTrue and scary.
- didntknowya 5y agoit's not a ban on takeout food. we have a covid lockdown which means they weren't supposed to drive out of the city- especially if it's for something as menial as fried chicken. and takeouts are closed because they want to limit people moving around. especially in an industry where workers are easily exploited and pressured into going to work even when sick.
- josephcsible 5y ago> it's not a ban on takeout food The article literally says "Covid restrictions banned takeaways".
- didntknowya 5y agothese criminals were prosecuted for crossing a border to get takeaways, not prosecuted for having banned takeaways.
- padastra 5y agoIf I were writing a movie script, and said this was in reaction to a disease that had a 0.2% mortality rate (or 0.02% after vaccination), everyone who read it would laugh at the ridiculousness.
- hackflip 5y agoThe antidote is worse than the poison
