I usually turn off auto-suggest. It pops up, flashing on the screen, begging for attention. It's useful for phones however because I am clumsy and have bad dexterity when using a phone. But for desktop PCs, I'm happy just typing out what I'm looking for (which has the added bonus of making my typing better over time).
