Thank you for considering this in terms of physics. I believe vehicle rules should vary depending on the potential for damage a vehicle can do. A cyclist running a stop sign would have negligible consequences compared to a fully loaded dump truck doing the same. A heavy cargo trailer towed by a cyclist (who thinks and acts like a cyclist, not a driver) definitely does not belong on a bike path.
