I think this is a brilliant move - I just did a 6 week project in Nairobi (and some surrounding farming areas) and I was astounded by the level of mobile penetration. I know you read about how everyone is using mpesa for mobile money but wow, it is crazy how widely it is used and how often people are on their phones. People in Kenya have tons of time and not a lot of money so I think this will be massive to hook people onto the platform; and lots will probably pay some amount for features like download (not as sure about how useful it is in Kenya but I am currently writing this from Cameroon where it is very useful... offices may have wifi but you go home and you're paying mobile data so lots of people, myself included, download shows at the office to watch at home).
