- prewett 5y agoNeither list seems to include much fiction. I've been reading "Diaspora" based on HN recommendations, as well as "Snow Crash", "Cryptonomican", and "The Martian". ("Cryptonomican" was a good story, but I really hated all the jumping around every five pages. "Diaspora" has sort of so-so writing, but very hard-math sci-fi and quite interesting ideas. I think it's the "hardest" sci-fi book I've read, which includes "The Martian" and the red-green-blue mars books.)

- rg111 5y agoThanks for sharing your opinions of these books. I just bought Cryptonomican. Looking forward to reading it. The book I am reading right now is also chosen based on HN recommendations (The Talent Code). And I am about to read the GTD book by Allen. (I hate self-help generally with very particular exceptions)
