- hammyhavoc 5y agoYou've misunderstood my poorly-worded comment, sorry! I already use Matrix, I am already a heavy endorser of Matrix: https://www.hammyhavoc.com/now/#:~:text=I%20have%20made,response%20than%20email https://www.hammyhavoc.com/now/#:~:text=I%20have%20made,resp.... I actively use Element too as my Matrix client of choice. My intent was that more people would stop using Discord "without losing friends" as the article title said, if the bridge were able to give you voice chat with said friends. Most people I know on Discord exclusively use it for voice chats rather than messaging, meaning the bridge isn't as fully-featured as I would need in order to ditch the Discord client entirely. As I'm fairly active within the game dev space, most comms happen on Discord unfortunately, including support for various SDKs, and yes, that's complete and utter garbage from the perspective of documenting issues as you aren't able to find them easily through a Google search versus a traditional forum. I also wish more open source projects wouldn't choose Discord for support and discussion!
