His tactics are of the time, his strategy is timeless. Among individuals and their business, like Rockefeller, Edison, Bell Telephone, etc., monarchy monopolies are nothing new. The US regulation systems have been in arms race with these giants since the late 19th century. Theil is just an angry genius who needs therapy. Yes, Gawker outing him was wrong, but everything I've read about the guy, and even listening to him talk, he sounds driven by anger. Like Esther Perel (the relationship expert who proudly states married couples should have clandestine affairs). Whether that's good or bad is up for debate.
And this, his jobs out of college:
"A job at a white-shoe firm failed to translate into a Supreme Court clerkship, as he’d expected, and a stint as a derivatives trader at Credit Suisse in Manhattan didn’t pan out."
Seriously, the dude's brilliant.
This cracked me up:
“Musk thinks Peter is a sociopath, and Peter thinks Musk is a fraud and a braggart.”
