That's where I'm at with my iPad, which is stuck at iOS 10. It still works pretty well for taking notes or browsing the web, even though that version of Safari is getting pretty old. For security, it's completely signed out of iCloud and all other services, and Safari is mostly for research purposes (so no social media, email, etc).
