It's no accident that he has almost gone broke funding ventures in several high-risk industries (space, solar, EVs) and still figured out a way to finance his bets. He is a master of raising money, doing PR for his ventures, and inspiring engineers to work for him for paychecks that are vastly under the market in cash (leveraging his stellar PR to substitute equity for cash at an astronomical forward valuation even in the early days).
