I wonder if they got rid of that massive bezel...
- Tomte 5y agoSince the bezel is really great for holding the device without obscuring the text, I doubt they want to get rid of it. Phones have other uses like video watching, also the tension between big display, but small outer size is much more important here. You won't put the Kindle into your Jeans pocket anyway.

That said, I agree that the bezel isn't a problem. It gives me something to hold without accidentally flipping pages, highlighting or making bookmarks.
- rastafang 5y agoIf it was a lot smaller (no bezel), I could hold it like a phone and it would fit in my pocket... The bezel is roughly 40% of the area of the device's front face...
- rastafang 5y agoGlad to see that they did reduce it: > In order to achieve that minimal increase in size, Amazon has shrunken down the bezels on the new Paperwhite.
- dbbk 5y agoAnd make the experience worse?
- rastafang 5y agoSorry, they did reduce it: > In order to achieve that minimal increase in size, Amazon has shrunken down the bezels on the new Paperwhite.
