  It's an observation of the reality of work. Nothing to do with privilege. Assuming the comnent "reeks of priveledge" reeks of entitlement. Do you want to hire the former barista, or the former Google intern, all else being equal? It's a "no shit, Sherlock" observation. What you do, who you work for, has consequences. The former barista may have to work a few stepping stone jobs, or work harder to get into an equal position as their intern friend. It's not fair, but, fuck, welcome to life.
