  I don't think "coin flip" is a fair description of the proposal. It's more of an application of statistical sampling to direct democracy to remove the tremendous overhead involved in requiring everyone to vote on every issue. A sufficiently large, randomly selected legislative body should closely reflect the eligible population, probably much more closely than an elected body would.

  Your comment is incredibly reductive and relies on both the “attack the messenger” and “straw man” fallacies. The author did not say anything even close to what you’re accusing them of saying. I’m not convinced you actually read anything past the headline.
