Some servers I'm in has notifications when you join, and then if you ever leave it also has a passive aggressive notification like "OK BYE I guess!!" Mods in smaller communities frequently greet everyone. If you pop in to check something then leave, you might as well @everyone that they're not good enough for you so you're out. That said, Threads seem like they could have some functionality in some technical discords.
