  They don't care because they don't set the prices except when it's an amazon branded product.

    Oh I don't disagree, I'm only pointing out that this has been going on for years. On any year I purchase ~$200 at most from Amazon now, and usually only items I can't find somewhere else "Amazon Branded"/"Fulfilled by Amazon" and whatever other tier exists isn't a distinction I care to make
