NakeDeb: Ultra minimal Debian based derivative distribution with fluxbox/i3wm

• sschueller 5y ago
Ultra minimal but I don't see a single mention of how big it is. Not even what size USB stick I need. I do see it can be burned to DVD so I assume it is larger than 700mb which is not very minimal IMO. Edit: download is 945mb. "Both Debian and Ubuntu end up with 500 Mb to 750 Mb in their "minimal" installations, even after starting with the "netinstall" iso or "business card" iso and no optional packages installed later on in the installation process. The Debian "netinstall" is a 180 Mb download, and the "biz card" iso is 50 Mb."

You forgot the OpenBSD Floppy image : 1.44MB

950 MB does not look like minimal to me. And the things listedon the homepage do not look like needing 950 MB. Maybe they package also some compilers or interpreters.

It seems you might not have looked into the contents of those ISOs. This distribution contains Xorg, a few applications and backgrounds. The minimal ISOs you mention are just command line and no graphical environment.
