2021 Is the Year of Linux on the Desktop
- ChuckNorris89 5y agoI don't count devices part of Google's walled garden as being representatives for the Linux desktop. IMHO, schools should focus on running only Linux and OSS SW and avoid getting kids hooked from a young age into ecosystems from Apple, Microsoft or Google. They can have those at home.

- simonblack 5y agoEvery Year is the Year of the Linux Desktop. The same as every year is the Year of the Mercedes Highway. Every year has been the Year of the Unix Desktop since about 1987. Every year has been the Year of the Windows Desktop since 1995. Every year has been the Year of the Linux Desktop since about 1993. Some of us have never had the Year of the Windows Desktop. I began my set of Years of the Unix Desktop around 1991. And then switched from there to my set of Years of the Linux Desktop in 2001. Who gives a rat's what OS people use? It's the same thing as "Who gives a rat's what people drive?". There are more important things in the world to spend your time thinking about.
