Just like 114 is greater than 110. Just like 200 is greater than 110. Just like 110.1 is greater than 110.
Basic logic and basic math.
13.
Guess a number greater than than 10.
Must be 13. See I told you so.
Hahahahaha.
If you so believe it is 113, what happens if I share the link of a Lucid battery that says 110? Which do you believe then?

- clouddrover 5y agoIt doesn't say 110 kWh. It says greater than 110 kWh. You're just irrationally repeating yourself at this point. It says greater than 900 volts. Do you believe that means it's an 1800 volt pack? It says greater than 750 kW output. Do you believe that means it has a 1500 kW output? Do you understand the difference between net and gross battery capacity? Here's an explainer: https://www.caranddriver.com/features/a36051980/evs-explained-battery-capacity-gross-versus-net/ https://www.caranddriver.com/features/a36051980/evs-explaine... I think you need to spend less time on Twitter. You'll be better for it.
- babesh 5y agoForbes says 118kWh. https://youtu.be/X9VZGkyL6KY https://youtu.be/X9VZGkyL6KY 11:32 Also, people are only considering net for range.
- clouddrover 5y agoNo, the full Forbes quote from the "Tesla Daily" video is "118 kilowatt-hours total capacity". That's gross capacity. Did you read the Car and Driver battery explainer? If not, have a read. Here's the whole Forbes article: https://www.forbes.com/wheels/news/lucid-air-500-mile-range/ https://www.forbes.com/wheels/news/lucid-air-500-mile-range/ I think you've done a good job proving the Lucid Air's battery pack is 113 kWh net. And today's lesson is that Twitter is not your best source of information.

That is rated capacity. The same website says that Tesla Model S has close to 100kWh usable/net capacity and close to 110kWh rated. The 520mi range Lucid Air has that 138kWh gross. "This website is administered by Oak Ridge National Laboratory for the U.S. DOE and the U.S. EPA." It pays to keep an open mind. Sometimes >110 != 113. So we have >110, 113, 118 total, and 138 rated as possibilities. The 138 rated looks the most legit.
- clouddrover 5y agoSo you're still saying 113 kWh net. This is just boring at this point. Break free of your social media bubble. It's weighing you down.
- babesh 5y agoNo I am not. If it was 113kWh net that would mean 25kWh (18%) is their buffer for a 138kWh battery. That Tesla battery has a 10kWh (9%) buffer for a 110kWh battery. That 25kWh (18%) buffer seems way too big. Also, Rob Maurer was guesstimating that its battery capacity nets between 118kWh and 124kWh based on efficency and optimistically comparing it to Tesla. A 9% buffer would be 125.5kWh net. One possible reason it could be that big is that it probably has doubled the number of batteries in series to get to their 900V versus Tesla. But that may mean they roughly doubled their battery failure rate (for each set of batteries in series). That would be ridiculous though.
- clouddrover 5y agoYes, you are. The only "reason" for their Twitter "conclusions" is that they're not understanding the numbers they're looking at. They don't understand that the maximum voltage doesn't tell you the energy content, you need the nominal voltage. They don't understand that the EPA watt-hours per mile figures are AC watt-hours per mile. You'd be better off taking advice from Kim Kardashian. Kim's marketing and promotion with curated, staged, and edited photos of herself in bikinis is more honest than what these "prominent people in the Tesla community" (whatever that means) are doing. You really do need to stop wasting your time on social media "influencers". They are not influencing you in wise directions.
