Right, PTO is compensation.
I always make sure I end the year with a zero PTO balance (no rollover) and I make sure that I encourage my employees to do the same.
- chrisdhal 5y agoDepending on the company, that's not great advice. At my company you cannot take PTO until you accrue it, so if you end the year with 0, then you can't take anything for a while until you accumulate enough time.
- AlgorithmicTime 5y agoIf there's no rollover (as I indicated is the case at my workplace) then you'll start the year wit ha zero balance no matter what. And we don't have that rule. Just don't end the year with a negative balance.
