Allow me to vent: yesterday windows cumulative update wouldn't install. Fine, Google error code "we recommend an in-place upgrade" I have no belief Windows 11 is going to be better just more of the same.

cmd as admin, sfc /scannow followed by chkdsk /f C: then reboot the PC and try the update again. Works every time for me.
