Two (in my opinion) interesting things:
1) "Phase 3 of the substudy [for booster shots], conducted in 306 participants ≥18 to 55 years of age, [...]"
States are preparing to administer booster shots to high-risk populations [1]. After all, 91.0% of all COVID-19 related deaths happened ≥55 [2]. Yet, not a single person >55 was enrolled.
2) "A retrospective cohort study conducted at Kaiser Permanente Southern California suggests that the observed erosion in vaccine effectiveness is likely primarily due to waning effectiveness rather than due to Delta escaping vaccine protection"
Booster shots are mainly being advertised as a protection against waning immunity due to Delta [3]. Now, Pfizer admits that waning effectiveness may occur even without Delta (The two dose regimen was touted by Ugur Sahin, CEO and co-founder of BioNTech, as a way to immunize people "for at least a year" [4]).
