Anonymous leaks gigabytes of data from alt-right web host Epik
- k12sosse 5y agoAnyone dove into the dataset?
- sayonaraman 5y agoWhat are some secure alternatives for web hosting
- noman-land 5y agoIPFS over Tor.
- blodkorv 5y agoGet your own servers. Sometimes it feels like people have forgotten how much traffic a medium performant computer can deal with. You often dont need a full cloud or a bunch of vms and serverless functions etc etc to run most services.
- unearth3d 5y agoAnonymous are on the right side of history, unlike the 'Right'.
- throwawaysea 5y agoThese “hacktivists” are simply left-wing criminals that need to be brought to justice by three-letter agencies. Just like we have seen with the aggressive, militant actions of decentralized anonymous groups (antifa, youth collectives, etc) in the physical world, these criminals don’t want to allow any speech or thought that disagrees with their own. Hence their attacks on Parler, Epik, and so on. Let’s not try to paint their actions in some virtuous paint of activism. These criminals have no place in a lawful society that holds liberal values.
- farrarstan 5y agour pussy stinks
- blockmarker 5y agoThey will never be brought to justice, since they are another arm of the state. These groups are a way of doing what the powers that be want to be done while having some plausible deniability. These groups are deliberately allowed to do this.
- igor47 5y agoextraordinary claims require extraordinary evidence
- jasonvorhe 5y agoThe super incompetent state is also the super powered villain operating in the dark. That way you're always right with your conspiracy delusions.
- sudosysgen 5y agoYou can be very incompetent and also be very powerful. It's quite easy when you have the powers of the state. I don't agree with the comment you were replying to either, it's just that I don't really find this argument convincing.
- mrtesthah 5y agoYou don't have to find it convincing; it's merely an observation on the way fascists communicate with each other. https://www.faena.com/aleph/umberto-eco-a-practical-list-for-identifying-fascists https://www.faena.com/aleph/umberto-eco-a-practical-list-for... >8. The enemy is both weak and strong. “[…] the followers must be convinced that they can overwhelm the enemies. Thus, by a continuous shifting of rhetorical focus, the enemies are at the same time too strong and too weak.”
- kamray23 5y ago'Hackers on Estradiol' lmao Good work? I don't agree with Epik on most things but exposing security vulnerabilities is always good. Then again, you could do it in a less harmful way for sure.
- rowanG077 5y agoHow can a web hosting service be politically inclined? That's just bonkers to me. Just because they host alt-right content? What's next? A restaurant that is labelled alt-right because some alt-right person once ate there?
- sascha_sl 5y agoThey're pretty outspoken about it. No need to defend them on a point they freely admit to.
- tarsiec 5y agoI agree with the sentmient of doxxing neo-nazis, but leaking the data of millions of innocents who just use Epik as their regular DNS provider seems unnecessary
