buying a new car is generally antithetical to buying a sustainable car
- rootusrootus 5y agoIf nobody buys a new car, how do you expect there to be any used ones?
- ksm1717 5y agoIdk I drive my grandfathers old car and I think most people have at least 2 grandfathers
- josephcsible 5y agoThe world's population is growing. Even if everyone's grandfathers had a magic car that lasted forever, what you describe wouldn't work for everyone.
- ksm1717 5y agoHi, my apologies, just got to your message. Implicit was my assumption that cars will be outlawed ~10 years from now, meaning we have every car that we need today. “Grandfather” was shorthand for “grandfathered in”
- josephcsible 5y ago> my assumption that cars will be outlawed ~10 years from now That seems completely baseless though. > “Grandfather” was shorthand for “grandfathered in” In the sentence "I drive my grandfathers old car and I think most people have at least 2 grandfathers"?
- rootusrootus 5y agoWhere did your grandfather get his car? From his grandfather? In any case, both of my grandfathers have been dead many years. And I assure you, the last cars they owned (which were manufactured in the 60s) are not what we want on the roads today.
