Ask HN: How does Twitter do SEO if their site renders using JavaScript
If you try too visit twitter.com with Javascript disabled, you will get a <noscript> error. If Twitter can't render, how does Google index it? I know Google most probably renders JS pages as well but let's imagine it doesn't. How would then Twitter be indexed??
- PaulHoule 5y agoGoogle does index JS pages. It's not that hard to do, I've used https://htmlunit.sourceforge.io/ https://htmlunit.sourceforge.io/ to do just that.
- vixalien 5y agoYet try to search your twitter username on google.
- new_guy 5y agoAnother point is a lot of the big sites don't even bother with SEO (or standards for that matter) when they get that big.
- vixalien 5y agoYeah. I bet Google assigned some folks the task "make a twitter crawler"
- Nextgrid 5y agoWhen running a walled garden the lack of SEO is a feature.
- vixalien 5y agoTrue
- gvb 5y agoAt one time, and probably still today, Google pays for a "firehose" direct feed from twitter. https://searchengineland.com/everything-need-know-google-twitter-partnership-216892 https://searchengineland.com/everything-need-know-google-twi...
