I got an i3 10100f the other day for a mere €80. For a four core cpu that sounds like a steal to me. Way to go Intel.

- buitreVirtual 5y agoIs that a good bang for the pound even after the price drop? (cost/performance ratio)
- elorant 5y agoThe processor is very efficient. Four cores at 3,6GHz, and can support up to 128GB of RAM. Even AMD can't beat that.
- mschuster91 5y agoWhy would you want 128GB of RAM without ECC support, something totally mainstream at AMD?
- elorant 5y agoI have ECC RAM on my servers. I don't care for it on my desktop rig.
- throwdbaaway 5y agoRyzen 3100 can do the same, at the same price point, and was released 5 months earlier than 10100F. Good for Intel for finally catching up?
- elorant 5y agoGood luck finding a 3100 at less than 100 euro though.
- cedivad 5y agoSure, but if you don't have a GPU to go with that it won't even boot. The non-f version is twice that.
- rasz 5y agoCongratulations, you paid for new motherboard and ram just to reach level of performance from 6 years ago. Used i7-4790 is ~$80, motherboard and DDR3 ram would cost 1/2 the new counterparts.
- elorant 5y agoYeah right. DDR3 memory is more expensive than DDR4, even used one, and runs at half the frequency. A six year old mobo doesn't support thunderbolt or usb 3.1 connectors. An i7-4790 runs hotter and doesn't support more than 32GB while a 10th gen i3 goes up to 128GB.
