One of the things that I like most about Jekyll is that when I return to my blog's repo that I haven't visited in 7 months, it is very easy for me to figure out how to "revive" it and add more content. I spent a few months making the "ultimate" Gatsby site for my blog. I loved it. A year went by and I had no desire to relearn everything in order to update the thing (and fix the myriad of security vulns GitHub was now warning me about).
