Lying assholes will always be lying assholes.
Control freaks will already be control freaks.
Sociopaths are already and always be sociopaths.
- Jxl180 5y agoIt sounds like you are describing morals, not ethics. Unless, I’m mistaken, morals are a personal feeling of right and wrong, while ethics are the codes of conduct in a society or, in the business world, a specific industry. A person working in finance can be perfectly moral and well meaning but fail to adhere to the governance and regulations of the industry — this must be taught.
- bobthechef 5y agoNot really. On the one hand, the distinction between morality and ethics, in common parlance, is nonexistent, so for all intents and purposes, they are the synonymous. But ethics is better understood as the science of practical reason. Sadly, a relativist view of ethics has taken hold. But ethics depends on human nature. What is objectively good for human beings? This is natural law theory ethics. It has nothing to do with laws or rules of government or anything else. Those, in fact, depend on ethical principles and prudential judgement which is the virtue of effective and and good practical judgement and action.
