It might as well be 1000 corporations. The problem remains a version of the village commons.
- R0b0t1 5y agoNot really. People consume what is produced. You can see this bias in news and print media and its effect on propaganda, but it really applies to all items produced. It's a popular retort to "just don't buy Apple" in the tech lockdown debates that crop up.
- namdnay 5y agoAnd what is being produced in this case is petrol (look at the list of 100 top polluting companies). So let’s tax petrol, that way we reduce consumption
- R0b0t1 5y agoThat would be amazingly unpopular. See the yellow jacket protests in France: relatively more affluent Parisians tried to tell the country gas was going to be taxed, but everyone outside of Paris needed gas to go about their life.
