I’m not a fan of this vaguely hamartiological style of reasoning. The narrative structure is like a biblical cautionary tale. The author had something bad happen to him, and so he’s searching for a transgression he committed that he can use to construct a punishment narrative.
- jimmaswell 5y agoNever heard the word hamartiological before but it's perfect here and describes exactly how I've felt too.
- shkkmo 5y agorisk analysis != hamartiology I don't see any punishment narrative. I think you a reading into the article to support your own narrative. Indeed, the entire article is about adjusting how one sees the related risks given the information that has emerged around the vaccines and the delta varriant.
- wyager 5y agoThis article is not risk analysis. It’s just a bunch of narrative stories.
